Something Old, Something New

What I Wear to a Picnic....Picnic Pants

Recently I was invited to my boyfriend’s family picnic (family reunion type deal). To some this may have been a no brainer, just toss on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt; and you’re all set to meet the fam. That’s exactly what I did; however, I was plagued with the overwhelming and self-imposed thought process of being the “girlfriend that works in fashion” and that’s a fashion stylist. So of course I wanted to make a statement, and take it a step beyond shorts and a t-shirt.

These linen shorts that I am wearing in the photos are not only figure flattering , but very family friendly with the knee length. I didn’t have to worry about showing off to much thigh around my boyfriend’s family. And I just casually paired them with a black statement t-shirt. Not shown I’m wearing a pair of Zara mules, and I also brought along my white Adidas Stan Smith’s.

Keeping Up With the Casual

Guys!!! I've got another outfit post, and this time I kept it casual.  I am definitely not one to complain about the weather, especially since I really didn't get to experience a hot summer this year.  So I am beyond grateful for this nice, autumnal weather.  Absolute perfect weather for layering, or simply adding a jumper if you get a bit cold.

Here I paired a "boyfriend" jumper with a very old pleated leather-like skirt that I scored at H&M several years ago.  I am also wearing my absolute favorite slides.  My black canvas tote is actually gifted from the Boy by Boy LC:M 2016 presentation show.

Although this look is very understated, I feel that it's still impactful and perfectly encapsulates where I am currently in my life.  Freelancing allows me to be rather casual most days because I have the luxury of working from home.  I don't have to dress up for an office job anymore, and I think now my true personal style will shine through.
