Something Old, Something New

All Black with Color and Shine

Hey guys hope I haven't been away too long, but I am back with a lovely outfit post.  I wore this outfit to a fashion event.  I intentionally wore this shirt because it was a Christmas in July holiday collection sneak peek event so I wanted to look festive.

Stand in Solidarity

Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing well.  This past week has been quite the whirlwind, and very draining.  However, I finished my styling course, but I started an internship at a Fashion PR agency (that I have since severed ties with - that's another blog post).  In addition to all that's happening here in London with my personal life, plus the recent events occurring back home with racism and police brutality, and the heart wrenching acts of violence against the police officers in Dallas - we all should just have a do over.

Many of you may or may not know, but I am a very religious person.  I have felt a strong urge to pray for all of my family and friends because clearly we are perilous times now.  But I know, and I hope all of you guys know that God is the author of it all, and that we should look to him when we don't understand what's happening in the world all around us.

Chapter 4 - Elevate Style

Hey guys, I am so happy to come back to you with a new blog post.  Just to update you all, I am still living in London.  My styling course is coming to an end soon, so now I must decide which directions my life will take next.   My new motto is to Live Elevated.  I made a vow to myself to elevate everything in my life - personal style, fashion, experiences, and overall quality of life.

I felt quite inspired the day I took these pictures so I took a few RISKS with my outfit and my hair - #ElevateIt.  My outfit wasn't too far fetched from my personal style (as you guys know it), but I did attempt laying my socks with sandals.  This trend is one that I hadn't been able to figure out, but I tried it...and it worked!!!  (In the photos below, you will see that I also wore my trainers as a alternate shoe option).

Now on to my hair.  I freed my 'fro.  I am normally reluctant to wear my hair out. But that is a thing of the past.  I am now more comfortable with my hair, and the many hands that seemed to be drawn to my hair.  lol.  My hair presents a boldness, and it is quickly becoming my favorite accessory.

So how do you elevate your personal style?? I advise you to take risk and step out of the box.  Be bold and confident in yourself, and the thoughts that may seem scary.  Allow yourself to be free and open.  I would even go as far as saying - Run away from the things you usually do.
