Something Old, Something New

Silver Rights

I wanted to publish this post yesterday, but in observation of Dr. King and the inaugural events...I took off.  I sat back and watched history take place, and boy was it admirable.  I wore this outfit to work on a day I felt like partially complying with office dress code.  My sweater is vintage, it was given to me by my older cousin.  I particularly love the unique color blue of the sweater, and the fact that its super soft.

Ms. Ron Burgundy

At the beginning of last year I made a promise to be persistent with this blog (well actually the promise was to just do something with the blog).  I am very proud of what Something Old, Something New has become, and going into the new year I am super excited about the things that are to come for the blog.
Because it has been soooooo cold outside its been quite difficult for me to get outfit shots, but this week I braved the weather and took advantage of the little sunshine.  My lovely new skirt is what inspired me to definitely take pictures. Coming in at $3.99 from my local Goodwill, my skirt was a super deal.  I especially love the detailing at the waist with the 2 gold buttons.

Black Swan

Happy Thursday friends!!!  This week I have been on a high.  Plenty of things to be thankful for.  God will surely give you the desires of your heart, and I am truly humbled and grateful.
Now on to my outfit...nothing special going on, but my cool new collar.  I bought this beauty at H&M in St. Louis when I was there for fashion week.  I knew when I wore the collar I wanted my top half to be practically muted.  I paired my basic black tee with a lace skirt that I bought at the Salvation Army for $2.99!!!
