Something Old, Something New

Have You Seen That New....Erdem x H&M Collaboration

Erdem is the latest brand to collaborate with the high street giant, H&M.  The Collection was inspired by Pet Shop Boys music video "Being Boring"...(yea, I had to google it too), but after watching it I totally got it.  As you can tell from the lookbook photos below, there are serious notes and influences from times from the past.  Beautiful gowns covered in winter florals, some even in a beautiful jacquard.  High collars/necklines and beautiful lace which read Victorian romanticism.  The collection is very English.

This collaboration with H&M is the designer's first offering of menswear pieces.  In this category of the collection, there are great heritage pieces, tweed suits, silk pajama inspired sets, pocket squares and shoes, as well as chunky statement knit sweaters.  All of which could actually be worn by women.  The designer shared in an article that "he would take the Harris suit off of the male model, and place it onto the woman model and it would look great.  So yeah for androgyny and gender fluidity in clothing.  I am basically sold at that point.  Boys clothing is just so simple, comfy and overall better sometimes.

Next UP....White Ankle Boots

As fashion month concludes and the whirlwind of non-stop runway shows, street style photos and 24/7 fashion content popping up all over our timelines settles; we can now start to digest what we've seen.  One particular item, that wasn't necessarily all over the runways, but more so worn by those fashion insiders attending the shows were white ankle boots.

Honestly, I think the only thing white I've worn on my feet since I was about 6 was a trainer.  I can recall when I was younger wearing white dress shoes on special occasions such as Easter, but other than that....no thanks.  However, after seeing these beauties paired so chicly with tights, skirts and denim dressed both up and down, I want in.  Basically white is a neutral and can be worn with practically anything. So yea, why not, but just to keep you guys from veering off the right/chic road, and down the treacherous lane of "looking country" please take heed to curated selects posted below.

So Long Summer, But First.....

On the blog today I am taking a few of my summer favorites out for a final spin.  I am not a big straw bag carrying girl, but this little cutie stole my heart.  I honestly think this bag is tolerable for me because it's the perfect compact size, and it's not entirely straw.  Straw bags were very big this summer thanks to the all coveted cult gaia bamboo handbag.  Literally every influencer across the globe were on Instagram posing with the cult gaia handbag.

Next up, I wanted to introduce my vintage robe to the blog.  The kids nowadays call them kimonos, but this baby is a robe.  I paired my robe and straw bag with a basic white cami and straight leg jeans.  I kept the outfit very simple.  The light blue robe has amazing details, large white magnolias trimmed with sequins.  It's also lightweight, and perfect for layering.  I would encourage you all to invest in a robe or kimono to layer in when transitioning through the seasons.
